Ouf Field Hockey team ended a
difHcult season with a record of
6-4-6, Unlike the powerhouse
teana that we usually are, we
struggled to produce a winning
record. Though we lacked in
talent, we discovered the true
meaning of team-work and
friendship. The beginning of
the season was frustrating and
trying, but it all came together
in the end with an unforgettable
viaory over the previously un-
defeated Tyngsboro team. Al-
ways remember that Jan makes
you know you can and Urquie
makes you feel so perky. And in
spirit may our motto always be:
"United we stand
Divided we fall

The boys soccer team had a great season this fall. They missed making
the state tournament by only one game, but in the season they beat
Tewksbury twice! Led by captains Andy Parr, M&tk Bobek, and Brian
Gillespie, other seniors were Anthony Vitale, Sean DeMaggio, Peter
Damore, Jeff Bento, and Dave Simmons. There were four selections to
the All-Star team this year. Andy Parr and Brian Gillespie were chosen
All-Conference Players and sophomores Matt McManus and John Lynch
were chosen MVC All-Stars.

The Wilmington High School Boys' Basketball team went
to war this year with new coach Jim McCune. The team was
hopeful after winning its first two games against Dracut and
Matignon, and a league title seemed within reach. The
squad continued to chase the title but it managed to slip
away with each dose loss that the team suffered. The
Wildcats tried not to dwell on their previous defeats and
continued to work hard until the end, finishing with a six
and fourteen record.
Highlights of the season included new, free, skiboot sneak-
ers. Wildcat pride T-shirts, beating Tewksbiuy, James
Robichaud being named All-Conference, and a broken
chalkboard. Special thanks to Kevin "Akight, OK?" Mac-
Donald and Tom Woods for their support, dedication and
innovative, tortuous drills.

The "Happy Campers" never did ride in the great
"Winnebago," but they did show those Peacocks (or are they
pea pods?) what Wildcats are made of (just about 130 points
— eat that up Tammy!) Their hard work almost got them to
Sectionals — maybe next year guys! Anyway, they learned
that with "Desire" (and maybe more WHS gym time!) THE

Much effort and hard work went into this year's baseball team, but the guys couldn't
pull off many wins. With Dick's coaching and team captains JefF Bento, Steve Killilea,
and Mark Bobek, the 1990 team gave it their all but ended up with a losing 3-17
record. Those 3 wins were a gift from the team manager Jen, in thanks for the water
dumping incident at the Haverhill game. She claims that she purposely screwed up the
books so their record wouldn't be 0-20. You're welcome guys!! Also to be mentioned
are the All-Stars Jeff Bento, who was also this year's MVP, and Steve Killilea. These
two probably would 've done well in the All-Star game but rain saewed that up, NOT
Jen.

CHER OF
nE YEAR
Mr. Richard Scanlon
Mr. Richard Scan/on
The class of 1990 proudly announces Mr. Richard Scanlon as
"Teacher of The Year." As always the choice for this award was
difficult. The award must go to the person that is dedicated to
teaching, is genuinely concerned for the students, and always wUHng
to take time out for the students' "crises."
Mr. Scanlon, otherwise known as "Dick," is a caring person who
likes his students, and is a fiin loving, hardworking coach who
understands the importance of high school athletics.
Congratulations, Dick, on winning this award that we are so proud
to present to you. You'll always be remembered by the class of
1990. Good Luck.

CLASS HISTORY
In SepternV^^ "6, the Qass of 1990 entered the newly renovated halls of Wilmington High
Schocl :,ie the first class to complete four years in the new high school. Not everything
was giCiiV. ^ the beginning. The gym was not open and we had all of our gym classes outside. It
was doiiag that year the Boy's Varsity Basketball team made the State Tournament.
We returned the following September and found more work to be done. We were no longer the
youngest students. We watched the Girl's Field Hockey team win their way to the top of the
Merrimac Valley Conference. Our Drama production of "Rehearsal for Murder" made it to the
second round of the Massachusetts High School Drama Festival. Our Gymnastics team scored
119 points in a meet, breaking the previous school record. We all rallied together when we
discovered that the schedule for next year would change from 8 periods to 7. After much
discussion the decision stood. We finished the year with a "Half Way There" party at the Sons
of Italy Hall that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in the class. But the next day we all had to
come to school. It was either that or detention.
When we returned in the fall, we were now upperclassmen. That was a great year for the girl's
teams. The Girl's Soccer Team, only three years old, advanced to the State Tournament by
beating favored Chelmsford. The Field Hockey Team again repeated as MVC champs, and the
Girl's Basketball team advanced to the State Tournament. Finally on May 19, the Junior Prom
was held. The long awaited event was a success, and fiin was had by all. Kerri Bently was chosen
as Prom Queen.
Senior year began with a blast, Homecoming Weekend. As the Class of '90 returned, Nikki
Zarella and Scott Halliday were chosen Homecoming Queen and King. The biggest success
story of that year had to be the Wildcat Varsity Football Team, Led to their best season record in
five years, by Coach Harrison, their dedication and hard work sparked a new flame of school
spirit. One of our most beloved and respeaed teachers, Mr. Frank Kelly, was induaed into the
Track and Field Coaches Hall of Fame. April saw the coming of Alcohol Awareness week which
culminated with a powerful performance "Eddie", a play about drug and alcohol abuse. On
May 18, 1990, the Senior Prom was held at the Hillview Country Club and was followed by a
reception at the Knights of Columbus. It was a fitting end to Senior Sign out Day. Academic
Convocation was held on June 1 followed by Graduation two days later. The four years came to
a dose that day, the third of June, when the class of 1990 made their final appearance as a
group, on the field, in cap and gown.
Thus ends the History of the Class of 1990 of Wilmington High School.

Class Prophecy
It is the year 2010, and the class of 1990 has gathered for a 20th reunion. Wearing nylons and socks, we have returned to our illustrious gym (with the plastic floor covering on, of course). We have all found different jobs, husbands and wives, and
many of us even have children. But, most of us ve still the same as we were in 1990.
Brenda Albertson now owns 10 pairs of dentures because she ate too many leaves. Ann Marie Andersen and Dave Magee now go to school functions. Tracy Angtolillo has taken over Mr. Woods job as Vice Principal. Todd Bailey and Ryan Collins are
. . . well, Todd Bailey and Ryan Collins. Lauren Beals owns her own sock faaory, "Super Small Socks." Greg Bennett and Jen McCarthy talk. Kern Bentley owns a successful hair salon and her motto is "If I don't look good, you don't either]" Je^

same man, tjxdjoe Valentino and Jay Pilcher married the same woman. Best friends share everything, you know.
Mike Bums and Taunia Soderquist were making a world tour with "Eddie", but eventually Mike took Taunia to court for brain damage. Taunia's plead was, "I didn't damage anything that wasn't already damaged." Kelli and Kern Butlerhoth have

The rest of the Class of 1990 has been jailed, for not having the pope sign their invitation before coming. A telephone call was made to all their families to make sure they were REALLY invited, and most will be released shortly.
All in all, the members of the Wilmington High School Class of 1990 are doing extremely well. We are happy, healthy, and prosperous, and look back fondly at our days at WHS. Let's hope for many happy years to come!!!

"My heart shares a common bond with the class of 1990"
— Andrea Paglia
The 1990 Wildcat staff would like to honor Mrs. Paglia's
son, Terry with a remembrance in our yearbook. In spirit,
he is also a member of our class, and will never be
forgotten by those whose lives he touched.
I
Terrence Raymond Wilson Paglia

Terry
Once upon a time, a flower grew:
it was planted for me and you.
The prettiest bud seen by all;
which grew to be four feet tall.
Blossoming with love and fiin,
Our dandelion, our joy, our son.
Short lived, defying nature's fury.
To rest with God in His glory.
Like all flowers to give our hearts a lift.
We thank you, God, for our precious gift.

YEARBOOK STAFF
SUMMER
STAFF
The 1990 yearbook was the produa of many people's efFons. This includes not only the
yearbook staff, but others who just wanted to see our class have a great yearbook. Assistant
Editor Ellen Demarco always kept us organized and in control. Mrs. Hayes and her economic
class are responsible for a majority of the ads, which considerably reduced the cost of the
book. Your efforts were appreciated more than you know. Michele Crehan and Michael
Bums put in many hours doing layouts and write-ups when nobody else had the time. None
of this was as fun as looking at pictures or finding out who won the superlatives, but it had to
be done in order to produce a yearbook. Thank you aU.
I hope everyone enjoys the 1990 Wildcat yearbook. It holds many wonderful memories of a
genuinely terrific group of people. Good luck to everyone; I hope we aU find our own kind of
happiness, achieve our own vision of success, and most importantly, fulfill our wildest
dreams!
